Terms & Conditions

1. General

All services provided by Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating are subject to these Terms & Conditions. By engaging our services, you accept these terms in full.

2. Quotes and Pricing

  • Quotes are subject to change if there are increases in materials, parts, labour, or if the scope of work changes.
  • Fixed-price services apply only where no additional faults are found; additional work, parts, or labour may incur extra charges.
  • Prices for parts, labour, and materials may change without notice.

3. Payments

  • Payment is due within 48 hours of receipt of invoice.
  • Certain jobs may require a 50% upfront payment towards labour costs.
  • Jobs requiring parts costing over £50 require advance payment. Advance payments for parts may not be refundable if the job is cancelled or does not proceed, at the discretion of Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating.
  • Late payment may incur additional fees as permitted under UK law.
  • Emergency call-outs require advance payment for the first hour.
  • Work outside usual service areas may incur a £1 per mile travel fee plus £15 discretionary charge.
  • Additional charges will apply if unsafe conditions, restricted access, or heavy/awkward items require clearing, moving, or preparation prior to work. Customers will be responsible for paying our standard hourly rate for time spent addressing these issues, or double our standard hourly rate if the work involves lifting, moving, or handling heavy or difficult items, at the discretion of Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating.
  • All parts and materials supplied remain the property of Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating until full payment has been received.
  • At our discretion, we may refuse to undertake a job if working conditions are deemed unsafe at any time. Should this occur during the course of the job, we reserve the right to cease work immediately, and additional charges may apply.

4. Services

  • All work is carried out professionally and in compliance with UK safety regulations, including Gas Safe and OFTEC requirements.
  • Appliances, parts, or systems installed will be tested for correct operation; performance may vary depending on existing systems and conditions.
  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating is not responsible for defects or limitations arising from the existing building structure, including poor-quality construction or deteriorated materials that may affect installation.

5. Liability

  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from the use of this website or engagement in our services, except as required by law.
  • All services are provided on the basis of reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for consequential losses, loss of business, or indirect damages.
  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating accepts no responsibility or liability for latent defects, pre-existing conditions, poor-quality workmanship, or structural or material issues within your property that may impact the installation, function, or performance of any appliances, systems, or works carried out.
  • Any products recommended by Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating are for guidance only. We accept no responsibility or liability for the performance, suitability, or installation of products purchased or supplied by third parties, including those recommended by us. Customers engage with recommended products at their own risk.
  • We accept no responsibility or liability for any work carried out by another company, including any third-party contractors recommended by Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating. Customers engage such third parties at their own risk.

6. Safety and Access

  • Customers must provide safe and unobstructed access to all work areas.
  • Pets must be secured safely away from work areas and employees.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult and must vacate the work area during work.
  • Egress and ingress must be clear, unobstructed, and safe.
  • Floors, stairways, and surfaces must be safe for carrying tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Customers must disclose any pre-existing damage, hazards, or unsafe conditions prior to the visit.
  • Work areas must be free of asbestos, hazardous substances, or other dangerous materials. Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating reserves the right to suspend or leave the site if unsafe conditions are present.
  • Unsafe conditions, restricted access, inadequate preparation, or unforeseen site hazards may result in delays, additional charges at our standard or double hourly rates, or refusal of service.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring that all materials, objects, or obstacles that could impede safe work are removed or secured before our visit.
  • Failure to comply with the above requirements may affect warranties, service guarantees, or the ability to complete the work safely.
  • Customers are kindly requested not to smoke or vape in the vicinity of employees whilst work is being undertaken. We reserve the right to cease work if this request is not respected.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or cease work where alcohol or substance misuse creates an unsafe or inappropriate working environment.
  • Our staff are to be treated with respect at all times. We reserve the right to refuse or cease work in cases of violence, aggression, threatening behaviour, or abuse. Any inappropriate behaviour may be reported to the police.
  • Failure to comply with the above requirements may affect warranties, service guarantees, or the ability to complete the work safely.

7. Cancellation and Amendments

  • Customers should provide reasonable notice for cancellations or amendments, ideally at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Late cancellations may incur a fee of £100.
  • Missed appointments may be charged. We reserve the right to charge for pre-arranged appointments if we are unable to access the property due to the customer not being present, failing to provide safe access, or not preparing the work area as agreed. Charges may include the full cost of the scheduled appointment, and any additional time or resources incurred.
  • For work already commenced, customers will be charged for work completed and may incur additional fees for the day, at the discretion of Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating.
  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating endeavours to attend appointments within the agreed AM (08:00–12:00) or PM (12:00–17:00) slots. While we aim to meet these times, we accept no liability for rescheduling due to factors beyond our control, including parts availability, workload, or unforeseen circumstances.

8. Warranties

  • Warranty periods for boilers, appliances, and parts are as supplied by the manufacturer. Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating is not responsible for manufacturer warranties.
  • Regular servicing may be required to maintain warranties. See our Boiler Servicing options.
  • Warranties are subject to manufacturer terms and conditions and may vary by model or type.

9. Emergency Call-Outs

  • Emergency call-outs are offered outside normal working hours (evenings, weekends, and bank holidays) based on availability.
  • Additional charges apply for emergency call-outs (see Our Rates).
  • Emergency call-outs require payment in advance for the first hour.

10. Force Majeure

  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating is not liable for delays or inability to perform services due to events beyond our control, including acts of God, extreme weather, flooding, strikes, supply chain disruption, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Rescheduling or additional costs caused by such events will be communicated and may incur additional charges.

11. Property and Damage

  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating will take reasonable care to avoid damage.
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing defects in walls, floors, ceilings, or plumbing that may be exposed during work.

12. Materials and Parts

  • Parts and materials supplied are subject to availability and may change in specification or price without notice.
  • Jobs requiring parts costing over £50 require advance payment. Advance payments for parts may not be refundable if the job is cancelled or does not proceed, at the discretion of Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating.

13. Data and Privacy Policy

  • Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating collects and processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Any personal data provided by customers is collected and used solely to provide quotes, deliver services, and comply with legal or regulatory obligations, including registration of products for warranties, Gas Safe compliance, Building Control, or other statutory requirements.
  • Data will be stored securely and will not be shared with third parties except as required to carry out services or by law.
  • By providing personal data, customers consent to its use in accordance with this policy and our Privacy Policy as stated.
  • Customers have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting us directly in writing at hello@ethanwynn.co.uk
  • By submitting information or engaging our services, customers consent to this processing.

14. Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes should first be addressed via direct communication with Ethan Wynn Plumbing & Heating at hello@ethanwynn.co.uk
  • If unresolved, disputes may be referred to mediation or alternative dispute resolution prior to legal action.
  • Nothing in this clause limits your statutory rights.
